Cookie Cutter Muzzle (Assorted Colours) | Mia's Muzzles
Introducing our standardized Cookie Cutter muzzles! Constructed with solid brass rivets, we offer a wide selection of sizes and shapes for varying breeds. In addition, sizes for medium to large dogs are now available in both 2mm and 3mm vinyl thicknesses.
See the Sizing Chart below for the current Cookie Cutter sizes. All measurements given are the internal dimensions of the muzzle, and measurements should be taken according to our Measurement Guide to determine the best fit. As vinyl is a flexible material, there may be slight variation in the width and pant measurements, depending on how it fits each dog.
Please note that the listed Cookie Cutter groups are a guideline only and are not restricted to certain breeds.
How To Measure
Measuring properly is the most critical part of ensuring a muzzle fits well. It is important not to add anything extra to the measurement. We account for this already!
1. Nose Length
Measuring nose length for a cookie cutter muzzle differs slightly from a custom fit. Measure from the inner corner of the eye to the tip of the nose, and select a muzzle that’s equal to or slightly shorter than that length. This prevents the muzzle from touching your dog’s eyes when it shifts forward as they sniff.
2. Width
Measuring width is done in two steps:
- Step 1:
Measure the width of your dog’s bridge, about halfway down their snout. Do not curve the measuring tape around the snout.
- Step 2:
Measure the width of your dog’s head just in front of the ears; again, try not to curve this measurement around the head.
Add these two measurements together and divide by two to get an average width:
1.75” + 4.5” = 6.25 inches
6.25” ÷ 2 = 3.12 inches
Choose a size which includes your final number in the given width range.
3. Pant Height
It can be tricky to measure your dog while panting, so you can estimate it by measuring the closed height and adding 2–3”, depending on your dog’s size. Avoid curving the tape over the snout, as that can inflate the measurement. Very small or very large dogs may need slightly less or more added.
